The Twizzlers proudly present: Cheetahman Rock, the brand new concept album and soundtrack to accompany Mike Orange's new hit film: Mike Orange Presents: Cheetahman Rock.

When we first met Mike Orange we were at loose ends as a band. We were riding high off the 2019 Twist To Advance! sessions, but had run into political issues due to the pay for play culture that can so easily be fallen into in the record business. We trusted the wrong man, and we got burned. Our tracks were held hostage by a crooked industry player who We Are not Yet able to NamE, due to leGal ReasonS. Suffice to say, we needed help from a true frienD. We found that in Mike Orange. Through his vision, and the legal council of Tom Gallagher, we were able to extricate ourselves. Our story is now one of honesty and integrity.
We knew Mike previously through his smash hit film Dreamlands, but our acquaintance took on a new meaning when we told him about our predicament. He had also worked with this individual, and though he had never let him get the other hand, he had been backstabbed in his own way. We bonded over this. He offered to connect us with that “Wizard of Brattelboro” Tom Gallagher, who was able to set us on our course. We owed him one. Big time.

When Mike pitched us the idea for a soundtrack we were immediately on board, no questions asked. But we wanted to see early drafts of the screenplay before we committed fully to the project. He got back to us two weeks later, with samples of the new script for the film. We were floored. We began brainstorming immediately the direction that the album would ultimately take. Day by day, the legal rights to our Twist To Advance! sessions were coming online, and all the while, we were crafting an album that was set to surmount everything we had done previously. Then everything changed.

When the novel Coronavirus epidemic hit Woodstock, we thought the project might have needed to be put on the shelf, or perhaps just canned entirely. They say that Woodstock was hit harder than anywhere in the early days of COVID. Even the Colony Cafe had to shut down performances. It was a grave time to witness. But Mike never got discouraged. He arranged for the entire band to be lodged in Vermont at the home of his legal associate Tom Gallagher. There, we were able to fully dedicate our artistic energy to crafting tunes which would inspire the audience and enhance the story of The Cheetahman. The first song to sound right into our hearts was the title track Cheetahman Rock, with lyrics Mike Gave us. It was a beautiful feeling, and put the tragedies of 2020 into perspective. We as a band knew that by sticking together and trusting the healing power of song and dance we would have triumphed over the virus either way, but this way we were able to do so even more. Many of us lost friends due to COVID19 and this album has in many ways been created in honor of them.

The story of Mike Orange Presents: Cheetahman Rock is more impactful today than ever before, and we hope as our many friends and brothers begin to heal themselves and come together during this time, that this great film will become a valuable lesson, and that the movie magic will be present in this album. A lot of hard work has gone into the production of this music for you, and a lot of love to the many people who look out for us along the way. If you are surrounded by positive people who support your work, it really doesn't matter what the rest of the world decides to think. The hard work is done, and it's on track for great things to come.
